Xalapa is located at an altitude of over 4,000 feet in the foothills of an extinct volcano in Southern Mexico. It’s the capital of the state of Veracruz. With lush parks, beautiful plazas and the view of the majestic Pico de Orizaba in the background, Xalapa is a scenic city that’s otherwise known as the City of Flowers. While it has a population of 600,000 people, it was originally a market town. Full of culture, museums, live music, Colonial architecture, and only one hour from the coast, Xalapa is an exciting, dynamic place to live and visit.
