July Spanish Language & Culture Program

Required Courses

Students take courses during the first three weeks of the Intensive Summer Program. Students can take 3 courses and earn 4.5 credits, or 2 courses for 3 credits.  All courses meet for 1.5 hours daily.  Courses are offered from the following list, however, availability is dependent upon sufficient enrollment.

Beginner Level Curriculum

Students take the first three weeks of either 2 or 3 courses from the offerings below:

  • Spanish Grammar and Composition
  • Spanish Conversation and Oral Expression
  • Spanish Culture

Advanced Level Curriculum

Students take the first three weeks of either 2 or 3 courses from the offerings below:

  • Business Spanish (Español Comercial)
  • Spanish Literature (Literatura)
  • Art History (Historia del Arte)
  • Hispanic Culture (Cultura Hispánica)
  • History of Spain (Historia de España)

Course syllabus are available here. The syllabus represent the complete six-week, Intensive course. Students interested in the July Valladolid program will participate in first three weeks of this program and will receive 1.5 credits for each course. Please keep this in consideration when reviewing the syllabus.

Beginner level: Requires one (1) semester Spanish language or equivalent

Advanced level: Requires four (4) semesters Spanish language or equivalent
