The BCA Dublin program is based in Maynooth—a thriving market town located just outside the capital city of Dublin. Maynooth is full of shops and businesses, restaurants and bars, pubs and clubs. The town is always buzzing with people and as a university town, it is known for its warm and friendly nature. From Maynooth students can easily take a train or bus to the heart of Dublin to explore all of the culture and history the city has to offer.
Housing and Meals
Student accommodation will be in on-campus apartment–style residences at Maynooth University. Each student will have their own private room within a 4 to 5 bedroom apartment. Each apartment has a fully furnished kitchen and a living room/dining room area. Bathrooms are on a shared basis with two per apartment.
Lunch is provided in the Maynooth University on-campus restaurant from Monday to Friday. Most special dietary requirements can be catered for with sufficient advanced notice. There are various supermarkets within easy walking distance of the campus and student apartment kitchens are fully equipped, and most students cook many of their meals, going out occasionally.
Many students choose to take their laptop computers to Dublin. Internet will be available via WiFi throughout each apartment. Computer facilities are widely available for students on campus. Students that have their own internet enabled devices will find free WiFi throughout most of the campus. Students will receive their login codes for the network at orientation.
There is less than a 10 minute walk between all classrooms, libraries, shops and public transport links. Frequent commuter trains to Dublin city take less than 40 minutes and cost about €7 round trip. There are also various buses available to students with late night options at weekends. All transport information will be provided to students at orientation and students will need to budget separately for these expenses as transportation costs are not included in the BCA Dublin fee.
