The capital of Austria, Vienna, is home to BCA Study Abroad’s summer German language program. Situated in northeastern Austria, on the edge of the Alps, Vienna is cultural hub for theater, opera, museums, architecture, and classical music. Great minds such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert and many more have worked in the city creating timeless masterpieces that mimic the city’s life, energy and cultural appeal. Vienna is also known for its food, drink and café culture – where you can spend hours enjoying life (or catching up on some course reading) with a cup of coffee.
Over the course of four weeks, students settle into Viennese life by taking German language courses at Internationales Kulturinsitut (IKI) Wien. Since the city is a crossroads of European history, students are also required to take a course on navigating Vienna’s geographical, political, cultural and artistic history. With one of the world’s best public transportation systems at your disposal, it is easy to experience class topics first-hand by exploring the 20+ districts within the city.
